Rapid City, SD – As a ‘side-bar’ of the annual 5-State Breeders Barrel Futurity/Maturity, the offspring of 20 of their nominated stallions were also eligible to compete in the Open Rope Horse Futurity featuring a Breeders Incentive. It was held on Saturday evening September 8th following the barrel racing events at the Pennington County Event Center in Rapid City, SD.
Nominated stallions for 2007 included Dreamin On The Money; Four Six Jess; Missin Freckle; PC Boonlacious; PC Fire N Smoak; Royal Three Charge; Streakin Four Sixes; Fixin To Win; Frenchmans Guy; Night Time Shiner; PC Boston Bob; PC Sunder Frost; Sadies Frosty Drift; Freckle Charge; Hot Colours; No Brakes Now; PC Cisco Frost; Romeo White Feathers; Sonny Pep San and VF Inherited Money.
Sharing the saddle sponsorship for the Rope Futurity were High Plains Genetics, Brooks Maberry, Inc. Equine Insurance, Pete’s Custom Conversions and Kinafin. Buckle sponsors were Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic, 1st Western Bank, Ireland Performance Quarter Horses, Woody’s Performance Horse Fees, Dakota Truck Sales, Equibrand and Ray’s Western Wear. Jeff and Kristie Thorstenson from New Underwood, SD spearheaded the event in 2007.
